| Ronald William "Ron" Howard is an American movie director and producer, as well as a famous actor of the 1970s. Howard first became renowned as an actor playing in the 1960s and 1970s films. Since he retired from acting, he has directed plenty of movies, including the blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and its loud sequel, Angels & Demons.The movie is grounded on the novel written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code which made the humankind split into two groups: its supporters and opponents, inclusive of the Roman Catholic Church. Though The Da Vinci Code was prohibited in a lot of countries, a lot of people around the world have watched the film.The film Angels & Demons uses the idea of a historical conflict between the Church and science displayed in The Da Vinci Code.The plot of the film Angels & Demons concentrates upon the craving of Harvard University religious iconologist Robert Langdon to uncover the mysteries of a powerful underground society called the Illuminati.The Catholic Church, in particular the Vatican, faces a threat when the main four cardinals to substitute the deceased Pontiff are taken hostage by members of the Illuminati dedicated to scientific knowledge. The Church is told that each cardinal will be killed one per hour starting at 8 pm, culminating with an antimatter bomb that is to detonate under St Peter's Cathedral sharp at midnight ruining the sacred city. To face down the terrifying jeopady, the Church calls upon the services of historian and iconologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) who is knowledgeable about the Illuminati. He has to begin the investigation straight away, rushing to find the abducted cardinals by deciphering symbols. Robert Langton together with scientist Vittoria tries to unveil the mysterious death of the Pope.The views of Rome in the film are magnificent and picturesque. The viewer has a chance to walk around the Italian capital and visit the most significant architectural and cultural places of interest together with the characters.The film does well to involve interest through its explanations of historical facts and the inner organisation of the Vatican. The plot keeps the viewer involved and interested up to the end of the movie. The story unfolds with unexpected twists and turns that leave the viewer thrilled. |
